Commuters could benefit from plans to provide car parking at a branch line railway station.
A planning application has been lodged to build a car park and cycle parking, with vehicle and pedestrian access, in a field next to White Notley station.
The application to build the private car park at the station, which is on the Witham to Braintree branch line and has an hourly through-service to London Liverpool Street, has been submitted by SG Ratcliff.
Applicant Louise Ratcliff said a car park with about 50 spaces was planned, on the field north-east of the railway line and platform, on the opposite side of the railway to the village of White Notley.
Sue Hood, chairman of White Notley Parish Council, said parish councillors would need to look at the plans before forming a view on them.
