TILBURY'S opponents in the next round of the Essex Thameside Trophy will be National Conference side Canvey Island.

The seasiders fielded a strong side for Tuesday's home clash with Billericay and emerged 5-0 winners, with goals from Burton (2), Burquez (2) and Midgley.

No date has yet been set for the match at Chadfields.

Tilbury's immediate thoughts turn to the tough Southern League Division One clash at Uxbridge on Saturday where the bottom club will have to be at their best merely to avoid another drubbing.

The Dockers have signed 20-year-old former MK Dons and Notts County striker Darryl Roach in a bid to find goals that eluded them for so much of this season and more new faces could be introduced on Saturday.

Dockers' faint hopes of making progress in the Eastern Floodlit League were dashed before even a ball was kicked at Brentwood on Tuesday.

The home side met Concord Rangers who needed at least a draw to go through at Tilbury's expense - or so everyone thought until Essex FA revealed they have changed the competition rules and now only the top sides in each qualifying group will go through to the knock-out stages.

The change was all the more galling for Brentwood, who produced a 2-2 draw against Rangers -- so Tilbury were done for anyway -- but Town also bow out.
