A group which provides vital support for stroke victims across Tendring has been saved, thanks to a major cash boost.
Clacton Stroke Association has been handed a £10,000 lifeline by Essex County Council and a further grant of about £10,000 is heading to the organisation which runs its transport service.
Deputy co-ordinator Lynn Priest said everyone at the group was both delighted and relieved.
"It means that the funds are in place to help us keep operating for another year and it is just what we had been waiting to hear," she said.
The money has come from the Essex Social Care Services team at County Hall.
The direct grant of £10,000 will help with running costs for the association - which is based in Holland-on-Sea - over the next 12 months. And the £10,000 to Tendring Community Transport (TCT) means that those who cannot access the site by any other means will still be able to get there.
Clacton Stroke Association provides rehabilitation and activities for its clients and has been operating for more than 30 years.
