Two Essex Thames-side Trophy ties top the bill on a quiet spell of midweek action on the local non-league scene.

At Park Lane Canvey Island host old rivals Billericay Town in the competition, but it is likely to be a low-key affair.

Canvey have billed it as a reserve fixture and both they and Justin Edinburgh's visitors have bigger things on their minds in their respective league programmes.

Both are likely to field some first team squad men, but generally expect to see mainly reserves or youngsters.

Admission is £5 with £2 concessions. Canvey season ticket holders get free entry.

The other tie tonight sees Eastway Essex Senior League Basildon United hosting Ryman Isthmian Ilford.

It could prove a good test for the new towners to measure their progress against a side who were colleagues of theirs in the Essex Senior last term.

Both matches have 7.45pm starts.

In Conference South Thurrock, having wrecked their hopes of automatic promotion with some disappointing home results, look to boost their play-off bid with victory at Hayes.

And in Southern League Division One East, Lee Patterson's East Thurrock will take over at the top if they win at mid-table Wingate and Finchley.

Victory would see Rocks a point clear of current leaders Fisher Athletic at the top, although the Londoners have two games in hand.

Action is completed by the Brentwood Town v Concord Rangers Eastern Floodlight Competition game.
