Canvey's Ann-Marie Heatherson got Charlton Athletic Ladies off to the perfect start in their FA Women's Cup quarter-final at home to Sunderland.
She slotted home the opening goal in the Addicks 4-1 win, running on to England midfielder Katie Chapman's through ball as the National Division leaders kept up their impressive form.
With more luck she could have bagged a hat-trick, hitting the post before having a goal disallowed.
Jo Broadhurst doubled Charlton's advantage against the Northern section high-fliers, and although the visitors pulled a goal back before half-time two late strikes put Heatherson's side into the semi-finals for the third year running.
Charlton will now face Bristol Rovers in the semifinals of the Women's FA Cup on March 13, with the final taking place on May 2. Venues are to be confirmed.
