Pupils at a mid-Essex secondary school can look forward to much better accommodation if plans for an extension get the green light.
Notley High School, in Notley Road, Braintree, plans to build a new seven-classroom extension at a cost of about £1 million.
The new block, which would be built at the rear of the existing school building near the maths faculty office, would replace seven demountable classrooms, which have been there for about four years.
The extension would form a new home for the maths department and accommodate about 210 pupils at the 1,200-pupil comprehensive school.
A application for planning permission has been submitted to Braintree Council.
