Forget maths and English - the Clacton branch of the Colchester Institute is looking for a lecturer in plumbing.
The popularity of a plumbing course based in Clacton has led the college to advertise for a £30,500-a-year lecturer in the subject.
Colchester Institute, in Church Road, Clacton, has spent thousands on improving and expanding its facilities. To help solve a national skills shortage in the construction industry, the college opened a new centre.
This includes new purpose-built workshops for students to use while studying plumbing. The plumbing course has proved very popular and Clacton was chosen as the place to expand it to.
There are currently between 120 and 130 students on the course and about 80 on the electrical installation course, which is hoped to be increased to 110 in September.
