Some 25 teenagers and four teachers from Colchester Sixth Form College in North Hill, Colchester, took part in the Slave Auction.
The offer of a date with some of the college's most eligible girls and boys attracted about 300 fellow students.
Bids ranged from £3 to £20 and organisers raised about £350 for Headway and other local charities.
