An airport worker has been suspended for having too much gel in his hair.
Ryanair check-in clerk at Stansted Airport, John Graham, was suspended on full pay by employers Swissport, for his mohican hairstyle.
Four of his colleagues wore mohican hairdos to work on Friday in protest at his treatment.
Mr Graham, 20, is also a GMB shop steward, looking after about 200 other GMB members working for Swissport at Stansted.
His union, the GMB, considered Swissport's treatment of Mr Graham far too severe as he has already conformed to the dress code by reducing the amount of gel on his hair.
A spokeswoman said Mr Graham had had his hairstyle for some time.
She said it was possible he could lose his job following a hearing tomorrow, which is being held at Stansted Airport at 9am with Mr Graham's managers.
A spokesman for Swissport said: "Swissport places great importance on the behaviour and appearance of all its staff. Uniform standards are published to all staff and form part of the terms of employment.
"In addition to the published standards, appearance and grooming is included in the induction and training course given to all staff."
