A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital after the taxi she was in hit a roundabout.
The ambulance service got four reports that a black cab hit a roundabout on the A130 near Chelmsford at 11.30am on Friday.
The driver, a man in his 50s, also of Chelmsford, was also taken to hospital suffering from shock.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "The 13-year-old girl of Chelmsford, who was in the back of the cab, was more seriously hurt. When the cab stopped, she was thrown forward and hit the partition between the driver and the passenger.
"She suffered injuries to her face, shoulder and chest but was not knocked unconscious."
Both were taken to Southend Hospital.
