Joe Keith is baffled as to how Colchester United are in a scrap for safety in the Coca-Cola League One.
The U's midfielder headed home a deserved equaliser in their League clash at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.
Despite the 1-1 draw securing a much-needed point, good results for the other sides in the battle to avoid the drop still leaves the U's in a precarious position.
Blackpool won in midweek while Milton Keynes Dons picked up a victory and Torquay drew at Wrexham on Saturday.
It means that there are now just six points separating five teams from the drop zone with Colchester themselves only four points away from the bottom four.
Keith said: "It's just mystifying how we are so far down the table. On our day we are the best team in the division."
