Maldon Town stormed to their tenth Southern League division one east win in a row after this 1-0 victory over Barking and East Ham United.
Gary Howard nodded home the all-important winner to seal three more points in a vital clash that pitted two teams battling to cement their places in the play-offs.
Maldon controlled play for the first ten minutes and striker Nicky Rugg saw an effort hit the post. In the 13th minute they made their breakthrough. Dean Parratt crossed and Howard headed home.
In the second half, Barking pushed forward and Maldon had to defend well to keep them out.
Maldon supremo Wallington was delighted with the goal that sealed victory.
He said: "We had been working on corners for the past couple of weeks, so it was great to see a set-piece come off."
