Detailed plans for the multi-million pound redevelopment of hospital services in Colchester have been put forward for approval.
A planning application has been submitted to Colchester Council for the project, which will result in all hospital services in the town being centralised at Colchester General Hospital in Turner Road.
The application puts flesh on the bones of outline planning permission that has already been granted.
The Amec Innisfree Consortium is carrying out the work, which includes a £30m cancer centre, new emergency and pathology departments, an elective diagnostic and treatment unit and a new shopping mall-style entrance.
If all goes to plan, construction work is scheduled to start in the autumn and be finished by November 2009.
The application is expected to go before the council's development control committee on April 14.
