A power cut hit more than 250 households in Maldon, Heybridge and Hatfield Peverel.
Some 270 customers were affected following a temporary fault on the overhead network yesterday afternoon. Power was lost at 2.16pm but was reconnected at 3.32pm.
A spokesman for EDF Energy said: "It was a temporary fault, which was probably caused by the high winds.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers."
