Jamie Guy is out to impress. The Colchester United youth-team player made his senior debut last Saturday, coming on as a late second-half substitute in the U's 1-0 defeat to Blackpool in the Coca-Cola League One.
Although it was only a fleeting ten-minute appearance, replacing the injured Sam Stockley, Guy was on cloud nine to finally cross the white line as a senior player.
"I've been at the club for four years now and this is what I have dreamed of, my first league appearance," said Guy.
Guy's debut came only days after he helped launch his youth-team-mates into the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup. He scored the first in their 2-1 victory at Crewe Alexandra.
The culmination of the fantastic cup run and Saturday's debut has left the 17-year-old on a high.
He said: "At the moment I'm buzzing. The youth team are in the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, the furthest they have ever been in their history, everything is going really well at the moment."
