Talks about the revival of Roman chariot racing in Colchester are being held tonight.
Supporters of the ambitious plans are meeting at the town hall to discuss the way forward. They hope the event will help put Colchester on the map.
Colchester United's Layer Road ground has been earmarked as the venue for the first races. Colchester's mayor and the town's rotary clubs are also backing the bid.
The discovery of a chariot racetrack at Abbey Fields sparked the idea of bringing the spectacle back to the former Roman capital of Britain.
Anyone interested in taking part can find out more at tonight's meeting at 5.30pm. For details contact David Judge on 01206 799222
