Motorbike racer Nick Curry is convinced he is in for a successful season after stepping up a grade.
The 27-year-old from Basildon contested the novice section of the Motorcycle Racing Organisation's series last year and finished 12th out of 40 riders.
This year Curry, who lives in Whitmore Way, is riding his R6 Yamaha in the Supersport 600 class in the MRO championship.
"Last season was my first year racing and I only missed about two rounds on a standard bike," said Curry.
"I was only a couple of seconds off the top riders' pace and they had tuned bikes.
"I will do really well this season even though the riders are a lot faster at this level."
