Police are making a fresh appeal for motorists not to leave personal possessions in their cars.

The appeal comes after reports where thieves have smashed their way into vehicles where items have been left clearly visible from outside.

In one incident a Pioneer stereo and a handbag containing bank cards and keys was stolen from a Renault Clio. The car was in Herbert Road, Clacton, when the thieves struck on Tuesday night

And in Connaught Gardens East, Clacton, a mobile phone, purse and cash were stolen from a vehicle the same night.
