Karl Duguid has insisted his career is far from over.
The defiant Colchester United captain is going under the knife for a third time in 12 months to cure a knee problem that has kept him sidelined since last March. He is confident, though, that he will be back in time for next season.
He said: "I have my fingers crossed that this will be the last of it. I know there are a lot of fans out there who probably think it's the end for me after spending a year out.
"But I'm only 26, I've got a year to run on my contract and I'm confident there are still plenty of games in me to come."
