It was icing on the cake for Colchester Interbike cyclist Shaun Aldous when he rode away from the opposition to dominate the final round of the Eastern Cyclo-Cross League - having clinched the title the previous week.
The Interbike RT rider was more than half a minute up on Carl Davey, from Mellis, who had battled for most of the race against third-spot man Nathan Miller from Anglia Sport.
Davey had, as usual, led the charge at the start of the race. But throughout the season Aldous has got faster and faster at each event.
Now he plans a rest before preparing for the road-race season.
