A campaign is being launched to blitz graffiti in Braintree.
Rewards are being offered to anyone providing information which leads to the conviction of an offender who has daubed graffiti on walls and fences.
The campaign is being led by Braintree police in conjunction with Crimestoppers.
The Name That Tag campaign is being aimed at young people because they are the most likely to be able to recognise the graffiti and put a name to the culprit.
The campaign has been organised by Chris West, crime reduction advisor for Braintree police division.
She said: "The problem in Braintree is no greater than any town of its size, but by targeting this type of offence we are protecting the quality of local life and hoping to make residents less fearful of crime."
