A bus boss in Colchester said he runs his services purely to make money.

Paul Cooper, managing director of Network Colchester, made the frank admission at last night's Colchester Council meeting.

He told councillors and upset bus users he decides routes for profit and not social need.

Mr Cooper was invited to the strategic overview and scrutiny panel following complaints from passengers about the withdrawal of marginal services.
