An 18-year-old man was threatened with a knife and forced to hand over £200 in Witham.
The man was walking along River Walk, at 6.45pm yesterday when he was approached by two other men. One of them brandished a knife and demanded money.
The 18-year-old handed over £200 and the men ran off towards Maldon Road.
A spokesman for Braintree police said: "The boy was unhurt but very shaken by the ordeal."
