A young driver from Mayland escaped serious injury when she was trapped in her badly-damaged car as it rolled into a ditch.
The 21-year-old woman was flown to Broomfield Hospital by Essex Air Ambulance following the accident near the golf range on Steeple Road between Latchingdon and Mayland.
A spokesman for Essex Ambulance said the woman found herself trapped in her wrecked car after it rolled over and fell into the ditch at 4.45pm yesterday
As she was complaining of neck, back and shoulder pain she was fitted with a neck collar and strapped to a back board for the journey to hospital.
"She was very lucky not to have suffered more serious injury," said the spokesman.
