Terry Nelson is hoping to work his way into the Great Britain disabled shooting team after his recent heroics at the national indoor championships in Wolverhampton.
The 61-year-old, from Basildon, claimed three of the four titles on offer and was delighted with his consistent displays.
"It was fantastic and I'm obviously really pleased because I haven't had this kind of success in the sport before," said Nelson.
"Things went well for me though and it's given me a few more points in the standings for International selection for a tournament taking place in July in Poland which hopefully I'll be a part of."
And, if selected, Nelson's call up would be an amazing achievement - having only taken up the sport three years ago.
"I saw a report on Basildon disabled club in the Echo and went alongafter reading that," he said. "I enjoyed it straight away and it's a bonus things have gone well."
