Tiptree's very own sports centre will host a sporting spectacular to mark its opening.
The £2.3m community sports centre, which is in the grounds of Thurstable School, will throw open its doors next Tuesday for the public to tour the new facilities.
Visitors will also try their hand at sports, including basketball, table tennis and tag rugby.
The centre was developed as a partnership between Colchester Council and Thurstable School.
It features a hi-tech fitness centre, gymnasium, dance studio, conference suite, new reception offices, indoor and outdoor changing facilities and classrooms, plus a full-size artificial turf pitch.
The open evening runs between 5pm and 8pm.
