A gang of thieves made off with £200,000 worth of shower furniture from a Southend warehouse.

The crooks forced their way into Southend Bathrooms in Temple Farm Industrial Estate and spent hours loading boxes into at least one vehicle.

No alarm was triggered when the gang forced their way into the building in Chandlers Way.

Once inside they found huge pallets which they removed from the main storage area.

Officers believe there must have been several men because of the amount stolen.

Sgt Dave Murray of the Southend burglary unit said: "They took about 60 to 70 large boxes of showers, shower enclosures and trays."
