A woman has been jailed for assaulting two police officers after a day of boozing.
Leanne Warren lashed out at the officers in Witham after smashing a shop window. Both received cuts and bruises in the attack on November 3.
The 21-year-old admitted the offences at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court yesterday along with a charge of criminal damage and one for failing to appear at an earlier hearing.
Elizabeth Lowe, prosecuting, said police were called when a window at the Colchester Co-op, in Spa Road, was smashed.
The court heard Warren, of Humber Road in Witham, had miscarried two days before and had spent the day drinking.
She was subject to a community rehabilitation order imposed just six weeks earlier for criminal damage offences.
She was sentenced to six weeks custody for the criminal damage offence, and six weeks for each of the assaults, to run concurrently.
For failing to appear at the previous hearing she will serve another concurrent sentence of two weeks. The community rehabilitation order will continue to run when she leaves prison.
