A Scout leader has made a desperate plea to thieves to leave her group alone.

Thorpe Scouts' hut, in Abbey Street in the village, has been targeted yet again, with all its heating oil taken from an outside tank

The fourth theft of the oil has left group leader Gwen Keeble "devastated" and she has criticised the thieves for "robbing children".

Despite security being set up at the site, Mrs Keeble said it seemed to make little difference.

Now, she is appealing directly to the thieves to leave them alone.

She said: "I just want to ask the people to leave us alone. I wouldn't mind if we were a multi-million pound company, but we are struggling and we are fighting to keep kids off the street."

More than £500 worth was taken last September and again in October, when the hut was also damaged.
