A museum in Maldon, which houses a vast collection of rare war artefacts, has been awarded thousands of pounds' worth of funding.
The Combined Military Services Museum, in Station Road, has just received the good news that it has been awarded £50,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Museum curator Marilyn Bullivant has a clear picture of what the funds will go towards.
She said: "The money will be spent on developing school visits, group visits and tours of the museum. It will really help us to plough on.
"Now we have the money we can allocate that area to a member of staff to work with which will free someone else up.
"We have had enquiries about school bookings and now we have the money we can put a lot more work into getting the schools to come here."
The museum, which opened last July, is home to many pieces of history which have come from all over the world.
