A new manager at one of Essex's largest sports complexes has fitness on his mind.
Ian Minor intends to make the gym, spa, golf and sports facilities at Five Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club in Tolleshunt Knights state-of-the-art.
Mr Minor, 33, of Maldon, has worked in the leisure industry for 14 years
He said: "We have been devising a raft of new exciting programmes, from personal fitness training to masterclasses and workshops. There's definitely no excuse for people not getting fit in time for summer."
Next year, the resort hopes to play host to a national aerobics convention, with many of the leading names in the industry playing a part.
The resort is equipped with a top-of-the-range gym, racket courts and a pool and there are studio classes in everything from spinning to pilates and yoga.
Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been invested in improvements to the two 18-hole golf courses, as well as the 194-bed hotel, set in 320 acres.
There is also a UEFA-standard football pitch, making the resort a favourite of premiership football clubs, as well as the England football team.
Among the events already held are a masterclass in aerobics and a posture workshop.
