There's good and bad news on the suspension front for Canvey Island as they attempt to continue their love affair with non-league soccer's top knockout competition, the FA Trophy, tomorrow afternoon.
Steve Ward returns from a one-match ban for the fourth round visit to Southern League Premier side Aylesbury after missing the midweek Nationwide Conference defeat at Dagenham.
His absence was due to him collecting two cautions with resultant red card in the loss at Crawley a week ago.
Midfielder Ollie Berquez, who has impressed with his scoring feats during the past couple of months, picked up his fifth booking of the season in that match and serves a one-game ban tomorrow.
Ward's return is timely after a chaotic defensive performance in the Monday night game at Victoria Road.
Generally the rearguard had performed well in the previous game in Sussex with Gulls seemingly heading for all three points when they held an early lead until the last five minutes - their hosts beat them with two late goals.
Although ensuring Conference safety - 17th placed Canvey are nine points clear of the bottom three danger zone - is undoubtedly the number one priority, a break from the vigours of searching for league points could be good for the Islanders tomorrow.
