Fraudsters have struck in Maldon with forged bank notes.
The incidents have come only a week after police warned shopkeepers in Maldon about people trying to use fake notes.
Ray Stannard, crime reduction officer at Maldon police, said several businesses in High Street have been hit by people using forged £20 and £50 Scottish bank note
He said it has created a problem as it is difficult to know if a Scottish note is genuine as there are not many in circulation here.
