A new initiative to clamp down on crime and anti-social behaviour in a seaside resort has been hailed a success.
Operation Chicken Run was set up to tackle issues in Jaywick.
The aim is to put pressure on thieves, drug dealers and those causing problems for other residents living in the area.
In the first phase of the operation, the team responsible executed a total of 13 search warrants at various addresses.
They managed to recover more than £15,000 worth of stolen property and about £2,000 worth of drugs. The haul included crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
Sgt Bob Walsham, who is co-ordinating the operation, said that the next phase will see officers clearing up a number of outstanding court warrants as well as targeting disqualified drivers.
