Yobs are putting lives at risk by taking pot shots at buses.
The 31X service run by First Essex Buses has been targeted on two consecutive nights by people firing air rifles in Maldon town centre.
On Monday evening the 8.30pm Burnham to Chelmsford service was attacked near the Co-op in Wantz Road.
During the following evening, the 9pm service was targeted in the same area with the shots appearing to be aimed at the window behind the driver's door.
No-one was injured in the incidents, but Ray Stannard, crime reduction officer at Maldon police, said lives are being put at risk.
Stephen Smith, managing director of First Essex Buses, said it was a serious incident in which the passengers on board the buses were fortunate they were not badly injured.
