A major new football complex in Heybridge should soon be coming under the public spotlight.
The project, at Elms Farm, was given the go-ahead by Maldon District Council in October for a public consultation to take place.
Discussions are about to begin between Heybridge Boys' Football Club and the council to decide how the consultation is to be carried out.
The development is a lifeline for the club, which could find itself without a home if it does not go ahead.
The club is based at Scraley Road, where it shares land with Heybridge Swifts FC.
But Swifts could be leaving Scraley Road to move to a new site of their own, which would leave Heybridge Boys' FC homeless.
