David Unsworth has revealed the main reason for accepting a loan switch to Ipswich Town - the chance to be reunited with Blues boss Joe Royle.
The Portsmouth defender has joined until the end of the season - the first time in his illustrious career he has dropped out of the Premiership.
But, having signed at the end of last week, the former England man is raring to go under the watchful eye of his old Everton boss Royle.
The duo were manager and player when the Toffees won the FA Cup in 1995. And Unsworth said: "It was too good an opportunity to miss.
"Joe and (assistant boss) Willie Donachie were the main attraction, to be honest. I have never been outside the Premiership before, but I had some good times with Joe at Everton and it will be good to work with him again."
Unsworth has refused to dismiss the possibility of a permanent move to Portman Road.
