Help is at hand for business and community groups in the Maldon district who want to set up a web site and keep it safe from the hackers.

Maldon eBusiness club is holding a short series of free meetings for business and community groups on the benefits of setting up their own web site and how to secure it against unwelcome visitors.

The Three Rivers golf and country club is the venue for the first meeting on February 9 on developing a web site.

This will cover how to start on-line, the benefits of a site and the site's importance as a marketing tool. Securing the site is the subject of the second meeting at the Swallowtail bar and restaurant in Burnham on March 9.

The agenda includes how to protect the site against invasion from destructive viruses, hackers and trojans and legislation such as the Data Protection Act that affects eBusiness.

The meetings are supported by Essex Chamber of Commerce. To book a place contact Sally Palmer on 01206 765277 or email essex@ebusinessclubs.co.uk.
