EXPERIENCED Saracens prop Kevin Yates put Southend's National Division Three South squad through its paces at Warner's Bridge this week.
The Zurich Premiership star - who has been capped twice by England and also played for Bath, Sale and the Wellington Hurricanes - was called in by the Seasiders' director of rugby Kevin Harman to pass on some scrumming tips.
Yates, 32, travelled to Southend with Saracens team mate Kris Chesney, who is a regular guest on the training pitch at Warner's Bridge, on Tuesday evening.
"It was great to have somebody of Kevin's experience here," said Harman.
