Rail chiefs have been forced into a U-turn after being bombarded with complaints over new train times.
Train operator One has caved in after timetable changes sparked fury among rail passengers in north Essex.
On Monday, One announced changes to services in a bid to stem the flood of criticism. Extra stops are now being scheduled at Manningtree, Kelvedon, The Hythe, Alresford and Great Bentley on some services.
A survey found 80 per cent of Manningtree commuters disapproved of the new timetable, which came in just before Christmas.
Witham and Braintree Rail Users' Group said the introduction had been "chaotic" and called for peak-time services to Kelvedon to be restored.
The changes also led to massive overcrowding with passengers forced to sit on the floor. Some even resorted to carrying bottles to urinate in because there weren't enough toilets.
One boss Tim Clarke said: "In recognising that some passengers have raised concerns in respect of the new timetable, we have listened to feedback and will continue to do so in ensuring that we are able to provide the best level of service for our customers."
