More than 20 pupils will travel halfway around the world after winning a £10 million competition.
The Alec Hunter School in Stubbs Lane, Braintree, was selected as part of a promotion by the Imperial War Museum.
Twenty-four youngsters, aged between 14 and 15-years-old, led by head of humanities Hamish Birley, will make the trip to Singapore and New Zealand between April 13 and 29, visiting key Second World War sites.
The competition has been held as part of Their Past Your Future, a £10 million, year-long programme of commemorative and educational events to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Hamish Birley, head of humanities, said: "I put a bid in saying that the students were going to be remembrance ambassadors."
The school organised a competition to determine those who would take up the 24 places.
