Colchester United's FA Cup campaign came to a sad and disappointing end at Blackburn Rovers.
Mark Hughes' side were the third Premiership team that Colchester had faced this year and everyone who made the trip to Ewood Park were hoping they were going to enjoy the same sort of quality performances put in against West Bromwich Albion and Southampton in the Carling Cup earlier in the season.
However, as the usually reliable Aidan Davison sliced his clearance and let the ball roll into his own net from a Kevin Watson back pass on 21 minutes, it simply was not to be.
The U's looked up to the point before the calamitous own goal that they would be giving Blackburn a hard time, and the Premiership side would not be simply rolling them over.
However, when Davison stood looking dejected at the floor, sickened by the foul-up that had gifted Blackburn the match on a platter, it was all soon to change.
