Generous Chamber members have been quick to respond to an appeal by Essex Chambers to help victims of the tsunami disaster and have to date donated £1790.50.

In addition to this, Chamber member Travel Services have raised in the region of £1500 for the Chamber tsunami appeal by undertaking a sponsored walk.

Travel Services managing partner Sebastian Rees said: "We discussed making a company donation but decided that we could probably be more effective and raise more money by actually doing something."

A total of 13 intrepid walkers set off on the morning of January 16 from the Travel Services offices at Wakes Hall Business Centre to undertake the ten mile hike to the Colchester Chamber offices in St Peter's Street where they were greeted by Chamber manager Jason Berry with much-needed tea and biscuits.

If you would like to donate to the appeal call 01206 765277.
