Police in Essex and Suffolk are investigating to see if several armed raids in both counties could be linked.
Following two armed raids in Essex, one at the Spar shop in Sible Hedingham and one at the Lexden Heath post office in Stanway on Thursday, police are looking at possible links between the crimes and a series of seven offences in Suffolk.
Each raid has been similar, usually two men in balaclavas are involved, one armed with a gun, and they have used a stolen car as a getaway vehicle which they later abandon.
Although police in both counties say it is too early to say if the raids are linked they are investigating the possibility.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police said an operation, codenamed Arctic, had been launched to investigate the armed raids.
