WAKERING will be glad to see the back of Essex rivals Maldon.
This clash on a rain-soaked surface was the fifth in all competitions between the two sides this term - and Tony Cross's village side have won just one of them.
Wakering ended their six-match unbeaten run at home to Wivenhoe on Tuesday. They fell behind here midway through the first-half after Simon Parker scored.
In the second half Nicky Rugg made it 2-0 before Nana Badu pulled one back for Rovers. But Maldon wrapped up the win when Parker scored his second.
