ALAN Pardew watched his West Ham side end their losing run with a hard-fought draw against Sheffield United and called on the fans to play a part over the rest of the season.
After a gruelling physical test at home to the Blades, Pardew must immediately refocus on league matters and prepare for a vital home game against Cardiff next week.
A smaller crowd at Upton Park on Saturday produced a less nervous atmosphere than in recent Championship clashes, but there were still calls for Pardew and the club's board to stand down.
And Pardew admitted that he found himself working against the supporters at times.
"Every substitution I make seems to be treated with derision at the moment," he admitted.
"I've got to be bigger than that and make sure that whatever decision I make is made for the right reasons.
"It's not easy for me or my players at the moment, but we will keep battling away.
Marlon Harewood put the Hammers ahead but Phil Jagielka levelled to force a replay on February 13.
