Hannah Stodel has begun the year with a victory.

As part of Britain's Athens 2004 Paralympic Sonar crew, the West Mersea sailor wrapped up their first title of the year by winning the class in the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta.

The crew, skippered by Sunderland's John Robertson, led from the beginning to the end of the ten-race event spread over five days.

Their domination of the competition was such that they won half of the ten races and never finished outside the top three in any of them.
