Think again! That's the message from angry beach hut owners across Tendring, who today vowed to join forces to fight moves to increase their ground rents by about 30 per cent.
There are about 3,000 huts along the district's coastline.
Groups representing the owners are planning to get together to campaign against the rise being proposed by Tendring Council.
Roy Mizen, chairman of Clacton and Holland-on-Sea Beach Hut Association, which has 300 members, said there was uproar over the proposed hike, which averages out at about 30 per cent.
Frinton could go up by 32 per cent while at Dovercourt they are set to rise by 37 per cent.
The proposals are due to be looked at by Tendring Council's cabinet on Wednesday before going before the full council next month.
