A pub landlord was today celebrating winning his battle for a music and dance licence - despite strong objections from more than 600 residents.
They fear there will be increased noise, disturbance and anti-social behaviour around their homes in Frinton.
But Peter Webb, who runs the Essex Skipper, was granted a public entertainment licence for the premises in Rochford Way.
He will be able to operate it from 11am to 11pm on weekdays, until midnight on Saturdays and from noon to 10.30pm on Sundays.
However, members of Tendring Council's licensing sub-committee imposed a number of conditions in a bid to minimise any problems.
Mr Webb is to install CCTV cameras, employ doorstaff, put in air-conditioning, and a noise limiter among a number of measures to reduce potential problems.
