An urgent scheme to protect crumbling sea defences at Holland-on-Sea could begin within weeks.
A major project to tackle a long stretch of the Clacton coastline has been delayed due to the Government pulling the plug on the cash to pay for it.
But Tendring Council fears if it does not take immediate action at Holland-on-Sea, a section of cliffs could be under serious threat of collapse.
Now plans to bring in a rock armourstone support to strengthen the existing seawall have been given the green light.
Work is likely to start in the spring and will take place from 7am to 7pm - although it could be outside those hours depending on the tides.
